CSA week 11

CSA week 11 0811 2018 sq

CSA week 11: more tomatoes, please! We’ve definitely begun tomato season, and that’s a good thing – no, it’s a great thing. The whole family loves tomatoes. We’re looking forward to several more weeks of all tomatoes, all the time.

CSA week 11 0811 2018The vegetable treasures this week:

  • six ears of corn
  • one big head cauliflower
  • 2 cantaloupe
  • one yellow summer squash
  • 1 head leaf lettuce
  • 3 cucumbers
  • 2 leeks
  • one ripe tomato
  • a big bag of red grape tomatoes
  • a bunch purple basil

I’ve already made purple pesto for a friend with kids – who could resist purple pesto? We have tomato gratin in the plans for this weekend – an old fashioned dish, but oh, so good.
