CSA week 12

CSA week 12 0818 2018

CSA week 12: my favorite radishes are back! The box lacks only tomatoes to be a perfect summer distribution.

CSA week 12 0818 2018Never fear, my farmers had tomatoes aplenty, and yes, readers, I bought some. However, I’m talking about the CSA box, and what was inside. This week the box contains:

  • 6 ears of corn
  • cantaloupe
  • yellow summer squash
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 3 green peppers
  • 2 red pimento peppers
  • large head broccoli
  • large bunch radishes
  • bunch green onions

Looks like mid-summer, right? We’re not tired of fresh corn yet, and we’ll never be tired of great salads.

More ideas from this box of goodies:

  • beef and broccoli  (homemade is so good!)
  • greek potato salad (mm, those peppers would be fantastic)
  • Turkish stuffed peppers (either with meat or vegetarian, both versions are great)
  • Summer vegetable tian
  • pickled radishes (possibly a Vietnamese style)
  • corn on the cob with herbed butter
