It’s Tuesday, so it’s time to collect the CSA box at the farm! This week my haul is very green: fennel, kale, green cabbage, 2 kinds of lettuce, sage, green tomatoes (swoon) and the first heads of fresh garlic.
I’m already thinking of what I might do with this. Hm, so many choices!
- a fresh crispy salad with new lettuce and garlic vinaigrette, and possibly including raw sliced fennel
- fish poached over fennel fronds
- double garlic soup
- roasted mushrooms with garlic butter
- pasta with smoked cheese and sage, with or without sausage
- green tomato pizza
- green tomato spice cake
- pickled green tomatoes
- quick-pickled cabbage
