City Commons CSA week 19

We had our first frost last Frida, so it’s only because our CSA has high tunnel greenhouses that we still have some tomatoes. This week our box contained sweet potatoes, red tomatoes, green tomatoes, baby ginger, beets, eggplants, and a greens mix for salads.

City Commons CSA week 19Of course, we’ll have our last summer salad; I love those greens with tomatoes, celery, and carrots among the crunchy bits. Other ideas for this week’s produce include:

Our CSA season has nearly ended: we have only one more week of distributions. We’ll still be eating local produce, though. Our town has a thriving and active Farmers Market, so look for some interesting and crowded  photos to come!
