There’s definitely a touch of autumn in the air. It’s much less humid, and while there are parts of the days where the sun makes it very warm, it’s clear that the season is changing. We see it in this week’s box: only four tomatoes (sob!) and a quart of cherry tomatoes. We have basil, collards, mixed salad greens, radishes, apples, and celery root.
These tomatoes will most likely be savored on summer’s last gasp BLT sandwich, probably on homemade bread. Other possibilities this week include:
- apples so many ways… including rice cooker apple cake
- tea sandwiches with thinly sliced radishes
- avocado and radish salad
- one more batch of pesto
- mashed potatoes with celeriac
